
Kota Kinabalu: The UiTM Sabah branch’s Kesatria Commander Corps once again proved their excellence when they were crowned champions of the Parade Competition in conjunction with the National Day and Sabah Day 2025 celebration.
The Kesatria Commander contingent impressed the panel of judges with their disciplined performance, neat formations and strong patriotic spirit, securing victory and maintaining their reputation as one of the best contingents in the rapid marching category for the Public Higher Learning Institutions (IPTA) or Private Higher Learning Institutions (IPTS) category.
The runner-up position in the category went to Mahsa College Sabah, while the Petronas Fire and Rescue Brigade of the Kimanis Petroleum Training Centre placed third under the IPTA / IPTS category.
Meanwhile, in the Government Department (Official Uniform) category, the Sabah Forestry Department emerged champion, followed by the Sandakan Municipal Council in second place and the Sabah Lands and Surveys Department in third.
For the Government Department (Non-Uniform) category, the Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry (KePKAS) was declared champion, with Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) as runner-up and the Sabah Public Works Department in third place.
Other winners in their respective categories included SK Tobobon (Primary School), Sabah Corrections Cadet (Secondary School), Sabah Ports Authority (Private/Commercial), Malaysian Girl Guides Association Sabah branch (NGO) and the Sabah Bajau Tabawan Arts, Culture and Heritage Association (Sabata) for the Sabah Ethnic Association category.
The competition, held at Padang Merdeka in Kota Kinabalu, brought together various contingents from government departments, security agencies, uniformed bodies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to enliven the official parade.
The prize presentation ceremony was officiated by Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) Mayor Datuk Seri Dr Sabin Samitah, who presented RM1,500 cash, a trophy and certificates of appreciation to the winners.
