
There are up to 230 flood alerts and warnings across the UK today as the Met Office warns of heavy rain and icy conditions.
The warnings are in place across the south of England, Midlands and North East with hundreds of alerts stretching across the same area and into the North West.
It comes as the Met Office issued a yellow ice warning for Scotland and urged residents to be mindful of slippery roads, pavements and paths.
The forecaster also warned of heavy rain, with five yellow rain warnings in place across the UK between Wednesday and Thursday.
Meanwhile, two men died as they sheltered from temperatures as low as -10C over the weekend in some parts of the UK.
In Manchester, a man was declared dead after police were called to the city centre following concerns over his welfare when he was found in a shop doorway.
A homeless man was also believed to have frozen to death inside a car as he sheltered from subzero temperatures in Beeston, Nottingham.
