Moscow has suggested it will attack European countries that allow Ukraine to use their airspace to send drones to attack Russia.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Moscow would respond if other nations allow Ukraine to use their airspace to launch drone attacks on Russian Baltic ports.

Kyiv has stepped up attacks on Russia's oil export infrastructure over the past month, launching its heaviest drone strikes of the more than four-year war against the Baltic ports of Ust-Luga and Primorsk.

Peskov said work was under way to secure all critical infrastructure, but facilities could not be 100% protected.

Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine was ready to reciprocate if Russia stopped attacking the Ukrainian energy system and that Kyiv was open to an Easter ceasefire.

Sources said the US relayed the message to Kyiv after initial “signals” came from Moscow, which is looking to protect its oil and gas infrastructure while the Middle East conflict renders energy expensive.

Zelensky said he “shared our experience with the Black Sea corridor and how it operates” with officials during his visit to the Middle East.

He conducted the interview having traveled to the Middle East, where he discussed possible Ukrainian security assistance with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar and Jordan.

"Our advice, when they asked us, was to stop the war as soon as possible and sit for negotiations - even if they can't sit together with Iran - and find a diplomatic way to end the war. But it is up to the sides,” he said.

To unblock Strait of Hormuz, Zelensky offers Ukraine’s war advice

09:45 , Arpan Rai

Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky has offered advice to end the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, drawn from the country’s battle-hardened experience against Russia’s offensive in the Black Sea.

“We raised this issue, because it is a painful and urgent one – as we can all see, for the entire world. There is an energy crisis. They know they can rely on our expertise in this area, and we discussed it in detail,” Zelensky said, speaking to Politico in a conversation on WhatsApp group chat.

Zelensky said he “shared our experience with the Black Sea corridor and how it operates”.

“They understand that our Armed Forces have been highly effective in unblocking the Black Sea corridor,” Zelensky said.

Ukraine is joining the list of more than 20 nations offering to help the US end the blockade in the critical waters, causing an oil price rise globally. However, Kyiv is not interested in being involved in a war with Iran and has suggested an alternative.

Citing the Black Sea confrontation in 2023 when Ukraine was facing a grain exports blockade from Russian warships leading to a global food crisis, it resorted to naval warfare and sank much of Russia’s Black Sea fleet with naval drones and missiles. The remnants of the Russian Black Sea fleet were chased from its waters.

Andrii Klymenko, head of the monitoring group on the situation in the Black Sea region with the Institute for Black Sea Strategic Studies, pointed to Ukraine’s major success in the critical waters.

“Ukraine managed to create a complex system of cargo ship protection from all kinds of threats on the sea route from the territorial waters of Romania to the Odesa region,” Klymenko told Politico. “I call it a tunnel.”

Drone attacks and artillery strikes killed one person in the adjacent Dnipropetrovsk ‌region near the town of Nikopol, Regional Governor Oleksandr Ganzha said ‌on Telegram. Two people were ‌injured in the town and 12 throughout the region.

Russian forces launched two strikes with glide bombs in the Sumy region near the Russian border, injuring 13 people, including a 6-year-old child, regional governor Oleh Hryhorov said. Fifteen homes were ‌damaged.

Ukraine's drone masters eye Iran war to kickstart export ambitions

08:25 , Arpan Rai

Ukraine's war has forced the country to become a trailblazer in drone interception. The conflict in the Middle East could be its make-or-break moment to take the technology global.

In an effort to export Ukrainian systems and know-how, president Volodymyr Zelensky has criss-crossed the Gulf region this weekend to hash out deals with countries that have been targeted by waves of Iranian drone attacks this month.

"Ukraine is sharing expertise that ‌is not available in the Middle East," Zelensky told Reuters in an interview last week.

"Expertise is not a drone, but a skill, a strategy, a system where a drone is one part of the defence,” he said.

Indeed, Ukraine has signed framework cooperation deals with Saudi Arabia and Qatar in recent days, and has said one is in the works with the United Arab Emirates.

Zelensky has stressed that arms sales must be decided at the government level, warning businesses against engaging with clients directly.

Ukraine's drone sector is chomping at the bit.

"Everybody is sitting and waiting," said Oleg Rogynskyy, CEO of UForce, a UK-headquartered Ukrainian military tech company which says its Magura sea drone has been the subject of intense commercial interest from the Middle East.

Russia winning from Iran war, says Zelensky

06:58 , Arpan Rai

A long war in Iran could be very good for Russia and very bad for Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky said.

“I am sure Russia wants long war. They have benefits: the US is focusing on the Middle East and may decrease military help to Ukraine. Sanctions are partially lifted. I see only benefits for Russia from the war with Iran continuing," the Ukrainian president said in an interview with Axios yesterday.

Asked if he was worried about a prolonged war in Iran as it could hamper Ukraine’s weapons supplies, Zelensky said: "I am not just concerned, I am sure we will have such challenges. Absolutely."

He also said the US move to issue sanctions waivers on Russian oil would not help Ukraine as it would add more money to Russia’s war-waging economy.

Zelensky claimed that Russia had helped Iran with intelligence inputs.

“I think Russia is supporting Iran directly, 100 per cent. The same format of sharing satellite images like they did in the case of Ukraine,” he said.

Zelensky says Ukraine being forgotten due to Iran war

05:28 , Arpan Rai

Fresh from a four-day visit to the Middle East, Volodymyr Zelensky said that he had reached agreement with some countries in the region to provide energy support to Ukraine.

Because of the Iran war, Ukraine's international partners were "primarily" sending their ‌anti-ballistic missile systems to the Middle East at the moment, and Ukraine was sometimes being forgotten, he said.

Zelensky said at the weekend during his Middle East tour that he had reached a deal on diesel deliveries for a year to Ukraine, without providing further details. Diesel is vital for the functioning of ‌the Ukrainian armed forces and the country's agricultural sector, the bedrock of the economy.

During his visit, Ukraine signed framework cooperation deals with Saudi Arabia ‌and Qatar, and has said another is in the works with the United Arab Emirates.

In his talks with Middle Eastern leaders, Zelensky raised the topic of air-defence missile supplies, he said, without indicating if any agreements ‌were reached.

Ukraine allies asked to reduce strikes on Russian oil, says Zelensky

03:58 , Arpan Rai

Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky said some of the war-hit nation’s allies have sent Kyiv "signals" about the possibility of scaling back its long-range strikes on Russia's oil sector as global energy prices have surged.

Speaking to reporters in a WhatsApp chat, Zelensky said that Ukraine is ready to reciprocate if Russia stops attacking the Ukrainian energy system, and that Kyiv is open to an Easter ceasefire.

RFK Jr claims that Trump talking about deaths of Russians and Ukrainians in Putin’s war proves he’s an ‘empath’

Monday 30 March 2026 23:00 , Shaheena Uddin

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said President Donald Trump’s willingness to acknowledge both Ukrainian and Russian casualties in the ongoing war makes him “an empath.”

During a Saturday interview at the Conservative Political Action Summit, the HHS secretary repeatedly praised Trump for highlighting the human cost of armed conflict, as thousands of U.S. troops were deployed to the Middle East amidst the escalating war in Iran.

“President Trump is exactly the opposite of everything that I believed him to be,” Kennedy said on stage in Texas. “And I basically drank the Kool-Aid that he was this bombastic narcissist who didn’t read books, was ill-informed.”

“You’ll see that every time he talks about the Ukraine war, he talks about the casualties on both sides,” the secretary added. “You will not hear any Democrat ever talk about that. And he talks about the Russian kids who are dying. He gets the reports every week, and they make a huge impression on him about the death rate.”

Putin faces mutiny from Kremlin's biggest Ukraine war supporters

Monday 30 March 2026 22:00 , Shaheena Uddin

Russian president Vladimir Putin is likely facing heat over the intensifying Ukrainian offensive on Russian oil and exports facilities.

Television personalities who have supported Moscow’s war effort have started criticising the toll that the offensive is now taking on Russian soldiers.

“We’ve been kicked in the ba*** again,” Russian state TV anchor Aleksandr Sladkov said, referring to the five-day offensive against Russia’s leading oil facility in Ust-Luga.

“The port in Ust-Luga on the Gulf of Finland is burning again.”

Yuriy Podolyaka, Russia’s biggest pro-war blogger, has accused the Russian military of ineptitude.

“I don’t think we’ll be able to turn the tide here in the next few months,” he said, praising the Ukrainians.“Our enemy is very, very serious and incidentally, very fast-learning, much faster than we are."

Zelensky visits Jordan to strengthen security ties

Monday 30 March 2026 20:30 , Shaheena Uddin

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has landed in Jordan as he continues his tour to bolster defence ties in the Gulf, as the ongoing United States and Israeli war on Iran rages on.

Zelensky announced his trip on the social media platform X saying that he met with the Jordanian King Abdullah II.

“We discussed potential partnership in the security sector, as well as the overall situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region.

“Ukraine is open to joint work to defend against drone and missile attacks. From our own experience, we know that without a unified system, it is simply impossible to establish comprehensive protection of people and critical infrastructure. We have such a system, because for the fifth year of Russia’s full-scale war, we have been forced to defend ourselves against constant Russian strikes, including those carried out using Iranian drones.”

He added: “It is also very important that those to whom we offer our expertise can help strengthen us as well. I thank His Majesty for the meeting and for his openness to dialogue.”

Russia's Ust-Luga port damaged by Ukrainian drones as fire breaks out

Monday 30 March 2026 20:00 , Shaheena Uddin

Russia's Ust-Luga port, one of its largest petroleum export outlets, was damaged yesterday in a Ukrainian drone attack that sparked a fire, Russian officials said.

Ukraine has intensified drone attacks on Russia's oil and fuel export infrastructure this month, hitting all three of Russia's major western oil export ports, including Novorossiysk on the Black Sea and Primorsk and Ust-Luga on the Baltic Sea.

Those attacks have caused severe oil supply disruption for Russia, the ‌world's second-largest oil exporter, and have hit Moscow just as oil prices exceeded $100 a barrel ‌due to the Iran war.

The governor ‌of Russia's northern Leningrad region said there had been waves of Ukrainian drone attacks on the area and that a fire had broken out at the port of Ust-Luga, which was also hit by drones on Wednesday.

The port, operated by Russian oil pipeline monopoly Transneft, handles around 700,000 barrels per day of oil exports, and, according to sources, ‌shipped 32.9 million metric tonnes of oil products in 2025.

Ukraine's SBU security agency ‌said long-range drones struck an oil terminal at Ust-Luga. It added in a statement that the strike caused "serious damage" and a ‌fire at the port.

Teenager among three killed in Russian attack on Kramatorsk

Monday 30 March 2026 16:30 , Shaheena Uddin

A Russian strike on the eastern Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk killed three people and injured 13 yesterday, police said, one of several attacks in frontline areas.

Ukraine's national police said a 13-year-old boy was among the dead. A statement said Russian forces used glide bombs in the strike on Kramatorsk, ‌which has been a frequent target throughout the four-year-old war ‌pitting Kyiv against ‌Moscow.

Kramatorsk came under a new attack two hours after the initial strike.

Other cities hit in Russian attacks included the nearby town of Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka and the city of Sloviansk, farther north.

Kramatorsk and Sloviansk are heavily defended ‌cities lying on what has been dubbed the "fortress ‌belt" – seen as key targets in Russia's slow westward advance to capture Donetsk Region.
