Ukrainian special forces said on Sunday they had launched drones at fuel depots on the Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula in an overnight attack.

They wrote on Telegram that the Semikolodesyanska oil depot - used by Russian forces as a transhipment point for supplying troops with fuel - was among the targets hit. No details were initially provided about the extent of the damage.

The unit also said Ukrainian drones had struck an oil terminal in the port of Feodosia, which is used to supply Crimea in emergencies. Further details were not provided.

There was no information from Russia regarding either attack.

Authorities in occupied Crimea recently imposed fuel rationing due to repeated Ukrainian attacks on the Russian military's supply lines.

As part of its defence against Moscow's full-scale invasion - now well into its fifth year - Ukraine's military has for months been launching counterattacks on Russia's oil industry in an effort to disrupt fuel supplies to the military and reduce vital revenues from energy.
