Ukraine warns ceasefire offer may be withdrawn after deadly Russian attacks

  • Ukraine's UN envoy, Andrii Melnyk, warned that Kyiv might reconsider its current ceasefire proposal if there is no significant international push to end the war, saying that "our patience is not endless".
  • Mr Melnyk indicated that Ukraine's offer of a ceasefire along the current front lines is already a substantial concession and could be modified if the Security Council continues a "wait-and-see approach".
  • Ukraine has carried out a series of strikes on Russian oil facilities, supply routes, and military infrastructure, which have disrupted fuel supplies in Russian-occupied Crimea.
  • An Egyptian chef was killed when the Turkish dry cargo vessel Victress caught fire during Russian attacks in the Black Sea, with eight other crew members, including Turkish and Indian nationals, being evacuated.
  • Overnight Russian strikes took place across Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv, including a drone attack in Sumy that killed three members of one family.
