Ultra-orthodox protesters stormed an Israeli military recruitment base on Tuesday, 6 August, in a demonstration against their impending enlistment.

Footage shows mounted police and troops chasing a group out of Tel Hashomer military base after they jumped barriers and broke through a fence.

It was the latest protest against a landmark Supreme Court order for young religious men to begin enlisting for military service.

Ultra-Orthodox men had previously exempt from the draft, which is compulsory for most Jewish men, under long-standing political arrangements.
