KUALA LUMPUR – Umno will hold this year’s annual general assembly (PAU2022) from January 11 to January 14 next year.
In a tweet, last night, party secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan reiterated that the general assembly was originally scheduled between December 21 to December 24.
“The initial dates were during the school holidays and many delegates had already planned their holidays.
“Hope all members are aware. Notice for PAU2022 will be sent officially soon,” he tweeted.
PAU2022 is set to see Umno members from 191 divisions express their views following the party’s tumultuous entry into a unity government with Pakatan Harapan.
This after several Umno leaders had initially objected to being part of the federal government due to the party’s “no Anwar, no DAP” policy which had been passed in the previous general assembly.
The assembly is set to see Umno’s leadership table a proposal to amend the party constitution in view of new anti-party-hopping laws. – The Vibes, December 6, 2022
