Umno Youth has expressed their dissatisfaction with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang's attempts to insinuate that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's government will not last its full term. In a recent ceramah held in Kemaman, Hadi, who is also the deputy chairman of Perikatan Nasional, mentioned that the coalition was still trying to win over Umno leaders who opposed their alliance with former rivals in the unity government.

However, Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh believes that such political tactics are not beneficial to the public. According to Dr Akmal, the public is more interested in understanding how leaders can assist them and provide economic opportunities rather than being subjected to nonsensical stories about never-ending power struggles. The statements made by Hadi are seen as unnecessary distractions from the core issues that should be addressed by leaders.

The public expects their leaders to focus on policies and initiatives that will benefit the country and its citizens. It is worth noting that Umno, a key component of Barisan Nasional, had initially rejected cooperation with Anwar and his party, DAP, before the 15th general election in November last year. However, following the election, which resulted in a hung Parliament, Umno decided to join forces with Pakatan Harapan to form the government, with Anwar as the prime minister.

In his ceramah, Hadi also mentioned that Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has been named Perikatan Nasional's candidate for the upcoming by-election in Kemaman, which is scheduled for December 2. Hadi stated that this move is in line with the coalition's goal of forming the next federal government. The remarks made by Hadi and the response from Umno Youth highlight the ongoing political dynamics in Malaysia.

The shifting alliances and strategies employed by different parties reflect the complexities of the political landscape. However, it is crucial for leaders to remain focused on the needs and expectations of the public.

The public's concerns revolve around socioeconomic issues, job opportunities, and overall well-being. Therefore, it is essential for leaders to prioritize these concerns and work towards addressing them effectively. Ultimately, the public is looking for leaders who can bring about positive change and improve their lives.

They are less interested in political maneuverings and power struggles. It is imperative for politicians to understand this sentiment and offer concrete solutions that will benefit the nation as a whole. By focusing on the public's needs and aspirations, leaders can create a more inclusive and prosperous Malaysia.
