Toyota retains the no.1 spot among the non-national carmakers in Malaysia.

In 2023, UMW Toyota Motor reaffirmed its stronghold as the leading non-national automaker for the third consecutive year, solidifying its position with remarkable sales figures and impactful initiatives.

With a record-breaking total sales of 108,107 units, Toyota demonstrated its unwavering market leadership, securing a significant 32% overall non-national passenger vehicle market share. Toyota’s success extended across various segments, notably in the SUV and pickup categories.

Selling 22,533 SUVs and 27,447 pickups, the brand commanded a notable 19.6% and 47.2% non-national market share respectively, further cementing its dominance in these sectors. Additionally, Toyota’s presence in the panel van segment was unparalleled, achieving a commendable 100% non-national market share with 3,424 registrations.

Beyond sales figures, the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability was highlighted through the Toyota Eco Youth Programme (TEY) 2023/2024. Partnering with the Ministry of Education, the program engaged 60 students and 15 teacher advisors from 15 schools nationwide, addressing environmental concerns through innovative projects. With a legacy spanning over two decades, TEY has impacted over 500 schools and nearly 3,000 students, fostering a culture of environmental consciousness.

The recent TEY Championship win by SMK Seri Ampang further underscores their dedication to nurturing eco-friendly initiatives.In line with its commitment to customer satisfaction and accessibility, UMW Toyota Motor inaugurated a new outlet in Nibong Tebal, Penang, expanding its network to 35 outlets across Malaysia. This strategic move aims to enhance customer service and support, ensuring seamless access to the brand’s renowned quality and reliability.
