The senior call for Charlie Holland at Chelsea has been explained.
The U15 Chelsea captain took part in senior training under manager Frank Lampard yesterday.
However, talk of the 14 year-old making the matchday squad before the end of the season has been dismissed.
While regarded highly, Holland's promotion was to give him a chance to work with first teamers and little else, says the London Evening Standard.
With the U18s' season over and the U21s in Germany for post season friendlies, Lampard was short of numbers and so took the chance to involve Holland.
