In this epoch, Generation Z, usually referred to as Gen Z, has emerged as a distinct demographic cohort with unique characteristics, behaviors, and cultural influences. There are born roughly between the mid-1990s and early 2010s. Gen Z is defined not only by its age but also by its relationship with technology, social media, and evolving societal norms. This generation is shaping the present and future in ways that often challenge traditional norms and expectations. Consequently, commercial products like clothing, shoes, music, video and virtual product like social media and app are designed according to the taste of the Gen Z.

Gen Z is known for its distinctive language with unique lexicon and mannerisms, heavily influenced by digital communication and online culture, especially the prolific use of memes, emojis, and abbreviations. Subsequently, they convey complex emotions and ideas in shorthand. For instance, phrases like "on fleek" (meaning something is stylish or well-done) "ghosting" (disappearing from communication without explanation), stan" (to be an avid fan of someone or something) or "sksksk" (used to express amusement or awkwardness) have become usual among Gen Z. These linguistic innovations often evolve rapidly and can be exclusive to those familiar with internet culture, especially their parents or even their teachers or professors.

Being different from the previous generations, Gen Z tends to prioritize experiences over material possessions. Subsequently, they forgo stylish clothing handbags or modern sports equipment. Many Gen Z individuals are good financial planners and are keen savers. However, they often allocate their savings towards experiences such as travelling, attending music festivals or exploring new cuisines rather than traditional investments like buying property or luxury items. This implies that they prefer for living in the moment and seeking fulfilment through a tapestry of live experiences.

Gen Z are keen to make friends with the opposite sex, but not keen to marry or raise a family. They have a propensity for a more fluid approach to relationships with the opposite sex compared to older generations like their parents. Even though they are open to forming friendships and romantic relationships with individuals of any gender, many are less inclined towards traditional milestones like marriage or starting a family. Factors such as financial uncertainty, changing social norms, and a focus on personal growth contribute to this trend.

In conclusion, Gen Z is redefining nuptial relationships. Many prefer co-habitation over traditional marriage with the main aim to propagate. They value companionship, shared responsibilities, and emotional connection without the formal commitment of marriage. They view co-habitation as a practical alternative to the solemnity of marriage, because they value independence and flexibility. Living together without formalizing the relationship through marriage allows them to maintain personal autonomy while enjoying companionship and shared responsibilities.

Owning a home is no longer a top priority for many in Gen Z. This is due to the fact that economic challenges, student debt and a desire for mobility and financial freedom lead them to delay purchasing property which is now more and more expensive. Instead, they prefer renting or living with family to save money and maintain flexibility in their careers and lifestyles.

Social media plays a central role in the lives of Gen Z individuals. Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Youtube are not just tools for communication but also platforms for self-expression, social validation, and even activism. Gen Z's use of social media extends beyond personal interactions to shaping cultural trends, influencing consumer behavior and driving social movements.

Actually, Gen Z practically lives online. They are digital natives who grew up with smartphones and social media. They follow influencers who are genuine and relatable. Social media activism is common; they use their platforms to advocate for causes they care about.

They are comfortable making connections and forming friendships through social media platforms. Additionally, they are used to making online relationships, whether with people they have never met in person or with friends from different and distant geographical locations. Consequently, this can involve extensive communication through messaging apps or video calls, sometimes lasting late into the night owing to the different geographical time zones.

Gen Z's lifestyle choices and values can sometimes seem foreign or even perplexing to older generations, including their attitudes towards work, relationships, and social norms. Their parents found it hard to understand them. This generational gap is exacerbated by the rapid pace of technological change and cultural shifts that define Gen Z's worldview.

In denouement, Generation Z is reshaping societal norms and expectations in disparate ways, driven by their unique experiences, values, and relationship with technology. From their language with unique lexicon and jargons, digital keenness to their evolving attitudes towards family and nuptial relationships and homeownership, Gen Z's impact is felt across various aspects of contemporary culture. As this generation continues to mature and influence global trends, understanding their behaviors and preferences becomes increasingly crucial for businesses, policymakers and even social observers.
