Unemployed man denies rape charge of minor in Kota Bharu Court

AN unemployed man has appeared before the Sessions Court in Kota Bharu, pleading not guilty to the charge of raping a 15-year-old girl in a storage room in Kampung Pasir Hor last year.

A man identified as Nur Muhammad Hafuza Ahmad Sadri, 23, has disputed a charge of rape levied against him. The plea of not guilty was entered before Justice Zulkifli Abllah.

The accusation states that the defendant committed the rape of a 15-year-old girl in a storage room located in Kampung Pasir Hor at 2:00 AM on 13 August 2025. This charge falls under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code.

The prosecution was led by Deputy Public Prosecutor Kamarul Hasyimie Rosli. The defence counsel, Mohd Hanis Mohamad Shariff, requested that the court grant bail for his client, citing his unemployment and lack of a stable income.

The court has set bail at 8,000 Malaysian Ringgit with one surety. The case is scheduled for mention again on 5 July, when documents are to be submitted. - May 10, 2026
