PUTATAN: Complaints about uneven and damaged road conditions on the Pan Borneo road between Kimanis and Bongawan got the attention of Deputy Chief Minister III cum Public Works Minister, Datuk Ir Shahelmey Yahya.
Shahelmey told reporters during a visit to the Lok Kawi Beach Ramadan bazaar here Saturday that he took note of the complaint and asked the Pan Borneo unit, Sabah Public Works Department (JKR) to monitor the situation.
Meanwhile, 694 Neighborly Watch Areas (KRT) in Sabah participated in the “Jom Masak Bubur Lambuk” charity programme held simultaneously throughout Malaysia. Shahelmey visited two KRTs, in Kampung Petagas and Pantai Lok Kawi which participated in the programme aimed at strengthening communal bonds.
“Here we can see the happy faces of KRT members who are busy preparing bubur lambuk in the month of Ramadan to be distributed to the local community.
“We hope that with programmes like this, the spirit of mutual cooperation in a community can continue to be established.
“When it is established, it is translated into unity among the community, beginning at districts and on to the national level,” he said.
Shahelmey went on to visit several Ramadan bazaars in the Putatan parliamentary area.
