
THE body of an unidentified man was discovered by the side of a river near a private college here on Friday evening, prompting a police investigation into the cause of death
The body, found by a member of the public at around 7.10 pm, was reportedly only wearing long trousers.
Subang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, said the man appeared to have been dead for some time based on his physical condition.
“At this stage, the identity of the man cannot be established as no form of identification was found. A physical examination could not be carried out at the scene due to the state of the body,” he said in a statement on Saturday.
The body has been sent to the University of Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
“The case is currently classified as a sudden death report (SDR) while we await the full post-mortem findings,” Wan Azlan added.
He urged anyone with information about the incident or who may have missing relatives to contact the Bandar Sunway Police Station at 03-5621 2222 or the Subang Jaya District Police Headquarters at 03-7862 7222 to assist with the investigation. - November 1, 2025
