Claiming the formation of “Cockroach Janata Party” is handiwork of some mischievous people, Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said there was nothing serious about it.

“The ‘X’ account of this party has already been shut down and those who were behind it had themselves stepped back,” said Khattar in response to a question raised by media persons during his visit in his constituency.

Khattar is on a three-day visit to Karnal district. He visited various villages of Nilokheri block on Saturday and reviewed the development works. He will also visit different villages of Assandh block on Sunday.

Khattar also appreciated the global outreach programme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said the PM has convened a meeting of the union ministers soon after returning from his foreign tour.

“The PM spoke in detail about his foreign visits and discussions held during the tour. He also discussed future plans and various issues including the economic challenges being faced globally,” he said.

On being asked about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi targeting the PM over his foreign visits, Khattar said, “I have spoken about him many times earlier. Repeating the same things again and again does not feel appropriate.”

He also interacted with party workers and local residents at Rest House on Saturday, before leaving for his scheduled visits in different villages.

Accompanied by Nilokheri MLA Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi and district president Parveen Lather, Khattar visited Jhanjhari, Takhana, Padhana, Sidhpur, Anjanthali, Kamalpur, Jamba, Sanwat, Haibatpur and Nigdhu villages to review ongoing development works and listen to public grievances.

Speaking to media persons during the visit, Khattar said he has been continuously touring villages across the region, but some villages of Nilokheri Assembly constituency were left out earlier.

“The main purpose of the visit was to hold direct interaction with villagers and resolve their issues,” he said, adding that problems related to the state government are being addressed through officials concerned.

“No major issue has surfaced so far. Matters related to one or two railway culverts were raised by villagers. Once they submit their demands in writing, the matter will be forwarded to the Railway Department,” he added.

Stressing his commitment towards public welfare, he said he remains fully dedicated to the overall development of the region. During his visit, he stressed public participation and continuous dialogue for the strongest foundation of development.
