Uniqlo opens largest SE Asia logistics hub

FEDERAL Land NRE Global Inc. (FNG), together with Fast Retailing Philippines Inc. (FRPH), on Friday opened a Uniqlo Philippines logistics facility — said to be the larget in Southeast Asia — in General Trias, Cavite.

Uniqlo is a Japanese casual clothing retailer operating in the country under Fast Retailing. It numerous stores nationwide offer a “LifeWear” concept of simple, high-quality and functional everyday clothes.

The logistics hub, located in Riverpark North, is designed to elevate logistics operations through advanced technology, worker-centric spaces and environmentally sustainable features.

“This new warehouse marks a new chapter for us in the Philippines, supporting our commitment to responsible growth while staying true to our purpose,” Uniqlo Philippines Chief Operating Officer Geraldine Sia said at the opening.

“Through our partnership with FNG, we aim to create local jobs and contribute to the community’s development. We hope this facility will become a benchmark for supply chain excellence in the country,” she added.

FNG President Thomas Mirasol, meanwhile, said: “The opening of this logistics facility marks a crucial step in strengthening the operational backbone of Uniqlo in the Philippines.”

“It supports not only business growth, but also efficiency, reliability, and the ability to serve customers better.”

The facility, now operational, is expected to enhance Uniqlo Philippines’ first-mile logistics capabilities through its strategic location in the Southern Tagalog region, enabling faster and more efficient distribution of LifeWear products to customers across the country.

It is also expected to generate employment opportunities for hundreds of local residents and provides a thoughtfully designed work environment that prioritizes employee comfort and well-being.
