Kota Kinabalu: The Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister’s Department plays a role in Sabah’s development.
Sabah National Security Council (MKN) Director Noor Alam Khan A Wahid Khan said development aligned with the National Security Policy (DKN) 2021-2025 was important to ensure that the State progresses in line with other states in Malaysia.
“Development activities affect the surrounding areas especially in terms of population growth, increased economic activity, use of basic infrastructure and surrounding resources.
“Unbalanced development has the potential to lead to ecological and demographic imbalances in the country.
“In this regard, development programmes should aim to improve the living standards of the people.
“Hopefully, the ICU can see opportunities in the archipelago that can be explored to benefit and meet the expectations of Sabahans in ensuring sustainable development,” he said during the DKN 2021-2025 Engagement session at Menara Kinabalu, recently.
ICU Director General Datuk Ruji Ubi also gave a briefing on the role of ICU in the development of Sabah based on the core thrusts of DKN 2021-2025.
Also present were Sabah Federal Secretary Datuk Sarul Bahiyah Abu and Secretary of Home Affairs and Research, Datuk Awang Shahminan Awang Sahari.
