
Tuaran: Unity and harmony among Sabahans are the keys behind the prosperity and well-being in the State, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
He said the people of multiple races and religions in the State respected each other and celebrated every festival and culture together.
He cited Chinese New Year which in Sabah is not only celebrated by the Chinese community but also other races.
“This is unique in Sabah because people from various races and cultures celebrate a joyous occasion in harmony.

Hajiji, who is also Sulaman Assemblyman, said diversity also enables the multiracial people of the State to live in peace and harmony.
“We in Sabah can be an example and role model for other states in Malaysia in terms of understanding and unity of people of multiple races and cultures,” he stressed.
He said the State Government through the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) is committed to developing the State and its people without choosing race or religion.
According to him, the State Government through the State Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry will organise this year’s Chinese New Year celebration to further enliven the atmosphere.
Also present at the ceremony were Assistant Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai who is also Kiulu Assemblyman, Pantai Dalit Assemblyman Datuk Jasnih Daya, Tuaran Lions Club President Captain Frankie Goh and local community leaders.
