Kuala Lumpur: The unity government convention will be held on May 14 at Dewan Merdeka at the World Trade Centre here, says deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
“There will be over 20 parties that will be involved in the convention. It is for the parties to show their solidarity with the unity government,” he said at a press conference at Menara Dato’ Onn today.
On Monday, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said a unity government convention would be held to determine common direction and course of action in the administration of the country.
Anwar said the convention was aimed at framing the same thinking and policy among the parties that made up the unity government.
