Bella Astillah, the talented actor and singer also known as Dayang Nabella Awang Astillah, recently made headlines when a woman named Sarah Yasmine came forward claiming to be her husband's girlfriend. Bella, however, was not taken aback by Sarah's revelation, as she had been aware of her husband Aliff Aziz's relationship with Sarah. In fact, Bella had already suspected the affair and had taken measures to gather evidence, including placing a recording device in their car.
Speaking to mStar, The Star's Malay-language portal, at a Hari Raya open house event in Petaling Jaya, Bella calmly stated, "I've mentioned before that I've placed a recording device in the car. So I'm not surprised. I already knew about the relationship with Sarah." While Bella was not surprised by the existence of the relationship, she admitted to being surprised by the details of the affair.
Despite the tumultuous situation, Bella revealed that she had actually met Sarah in person at Sarah's request. "She really wanted to meet me. We met last week in Kuala Lumpur. I also followed her on Instagram. Not to support what she's doing. But she's telling the truth," Bella disclosed. She expressed a sense of relief, believing that Sarah's revelation could serve as crucial evidence in her ongoing divorce trial against Aliff.
Sarah's public statement about her relationship with Aliff emerged after she claimed that they had become close since January. Bella, however, had filed for divorce from Aliff shortly after he was found in a compromising situation with actress Ruhainies on March 9. Bella and Aliff tied the knot on September 9, 2016, and share two children aged seven and four.
This is not the first time Bella has sought a divorce from Aliff. The couple previously divorced in 2019 following allegations of infidelity on Aliff's part. Despite their initial separation, Bella and Aliff reconciled in 2020, only for their relationship to face more challenges leading to the current divorce proceedings.
During the divorce hearing on April 4, Aliff expressed his refusal to divorce Bella, adding further complexity to the already strained situation. Bella's strength and resilience throughout this ordeal have been commendable, as she navigates the challenges of her personal life in the public eye.
