UOB Malaysia has announced changes to its Credit and Charge Card fee structure, which take effect from 8 August 2025. The revision removes certain charges and eliminates annual fees for its Basic Card products.

Key Revisions to Card Fees

Under the previous structure, requesting  a sales draft incurred a fee of RM5 for a photocopy and RM15 for the original document. From 8 August 2025, this fee will be removed entirely.

Additionally, the Basic Card’s principal holder previously faced a monthly charge of RM6, waived if one qualifying retail transaction was made in the statement month, while supplementary cardholders paid RM30 annually. These fees will now be abolished, with both principal and supplementary Basic Cards carrying no annual fees.

Applies Only to Existing Basic Cardholders

UOB Malaysia has also confirmed that applications for the UOB Basic Card are no longer accepted. The removal of annual fees applies exclusively to customers who currently hold the Basic Card. New applicants will not be able to obtain this product.

Where to Find More Information

Full details of the revised charges are available on UOB Malaysia’s website. Customers can review the UOB Basic Card Product page and the UOB Debit Card Fees and Charges page for the most current information.

Accuracy of Fee Information

UOB Malaysia notes that the fees and charges listed on its website represent the most accurate and up-to-date details. In cases where discrepancies arise between online and printed materials, the UOB website version will take precedence.
