United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd (UOB Malaysia) has updated the terms and conditions for several of its credit cards, revising reward eligibility and usage policies effective 31 October 2025.

Professional Services and International Advertising Transactions Excluded

Under the new terms, transactions involving professional services and international companies, including digital advertising platforms, will no longer qualify for reward points under the Overseas Spend category.

This includes services from global providers such as Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and TikTok, along with other similar entities. The exclusion ensures that reward points are focused on personal retail and travel-related spending rather than business or commercial transactions.

Clarification on Personal and Non-Commercial Use

The revisions also reaffirm that all affected credit cards are intended strictly for personal and non-commercial use. Cardholders are not permitted to use their cards for business, resale, or profit-making activities.

This update aligns with UOB Malaysia’s broader compliance framework and reinforces responsible card usage across its portfolio.

Effective Date and Customer Guidance

The new terms will take effect on 31 October 2025, after which the updated exclusions and definitions will apply to all relevant transactions.

UOB Malaysia stated that the changes are part of its regular review to maintain transparency, compliance, and consistency within its rewards structure.

Customers are advised to review the revised terms on the UOB Malaysia website or contact customer service for further information.
