UOB Malaysia has announced a change to its credit card policy that will take effect from 1 January 2026. To continue enjoying annual fee waivers, cardholders will need to meet a minimum annual spending requirement depending on their card type.
This change applies to several UOB credit cards and is intended to enhance transparency for customers regarding the eligibility criteria for annual fee waivers.
Minimum Spend Based on Card Type
Beginning next year, cardholders must reach a specific spending threshold within a 12-month period to enjoy a waiver on the annual fee. The required amount varies depending on the card held.
For premium cards such as the UOB Privilege Banking Visa Infinite, Visa Infinite, Lady’s Solitaire, PRVI Miles Elite, and World Card, the minimum spend required is RM50,000 per year.
For cardholders using the UOB PRVI Miles, Lady’s Platinum, ONE Platinum, Preferred, or Lazada UOB Card, the annual fee will be waived if they spend RM20,000 or more per year.
Finally, for the UOB Lady’s Classic and ONE Classic Card, the required minimum annual spend is RM15,000.
What This Means for Cardholders
Cardholders who do not meet the minimum spending requirement for their specific card type will be charged the standard annual fee. The spending amount will be calculated based on retail transactions made with the card during each card anniversary year.
UOB encourages cardholders to review their spending habits to ensure they remain eligible for fee waivers in 2026 and beyond.
Further details may be shared directly with affected customers, and UOB’s customer service channels are available for anyone seeking clarification.
