A district supply officer (DSO) posted at Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, has been booked along with four others after her mother accused them of conspiring to grab her land through forged documents and fraudulent financial transactions, with the police saying the allegations would be verified during the investigation.

A first information report (FIR) was registered at the Sarsawa police station in Saharanpur district on the complaint of Munesh Rani, a resident of Mirpur Sitapur village, against her own daughter and Hapur DSO Seema Chaudhary. Rani also accused Sanjeev Kumar Chaudhary, Rajendra Rana, Gambhir and Naresh Kumar in her FIR.

Speaking to The Tribune, a UP police official said Rani claimed that Rs 15 lakh was deposited into her bank account without her knowledge and that the account was operated without her consent. Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 506 of the India Penal Code (IPC), relating to cheating, forgery, use of forged documents and criminal intimidation. The complainant also alleged that she was threatened with dire consequences when she opposed the alleged attempt to take over her property.

The official said, “Investigation has begun and that the allegations can be confirmed only after a fair probe is completed." The complainant Rani has further alleged that her daughter is part of a land mafia gang. She claimed Seema, along with Sanjeev Chaudhary and Gambhir from Mirpur Sitapur (Sarsawa), Rajendra Rana from Mirpura village in Baghpat, and Naresh Kumar from Pahlanpur village in Sarsawa, conspired to grab her land.

She alleged that a forged receipt dated September 16, 2023, was created using fake signatures in an attempt to take over her property. She said she came to know about it through the tehsil administration.

When she opposed the alleged attempt, she was threatened with death, she further claimed. She also said she was forced to sell her land to a woman named Nancy, a resident of Dehradun.

She added that she first filed a complaint at the Sarsawa police station on May 13, but no action was taken. She later approached the SSP, after which the FIR was registered on June 30 around 4.30 pm against Seema Chaudhary and four others.
