
MANILA, Philippines —The University of the Philippines retained its status as the top university in the Philippines in the 2027 World University Rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
But while UP remained on top, its ranking dropped from 362nd place to 402nd, according to the report released Thursday (Manila time).
Ateneo de Manila University is at no. 2 at 581, lower than the 511 this year.
The other universities included in the rankings were De La Salle University (751st to 760th), University of Santo Tomas (951st to 1,000th), and Adamson University (1201st to 1400th).
For 2027, the Massachussetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is the top ranking university in the world, while the National University of Singapore is the top university in the Asian region.
A total of 1504 universities across the globe were ranked in the 2027 list.
