We don’t need astrology or psychic powers to tell you that 2026 is going to be a massive year for pop culture and cinema. How can we be so sure? Well, 2026 has an impressive line up of new releases, especially upcoming movie sequels.
The lineup of 2026 releases is packed with book adaptations, movie sequels and superhero films, promising non-stop entertainment for every cinephile. Sequels have been a major theme of the 2020s, either due to a lack of original scripts or a desire to revisit the past for nostalgia, but we’re not complaining; 2026 is bringing even more of them.
In the first quarter of the year, movie sequels such as 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, Scream 7 and Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man will grace our screens.
May will bring what is perhaps one of the most anticipated legacy sequels of 2026 — The Devil Wears Prada 2, followed by a summer packed with titles such as Scary Movie 6, Toy Story 5 and Minions 3.
The transition to fall will see the release of Practical Magic 2 in September and The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping in November, followed by Dune: Part Three in December.
So, without any delays, let’s look at the most anticipated movie sequels releasing in 2026.
