In a recent update by the Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman, it is revealed that the members of the search and rescue team (SAR) have 6 manholes to inspect along a 7 KM sewage line to look for the sinkhole victim.

Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) has opened up the manholes for the SAR to do their work. However, they have to go one sewage at a time to ensure their safety.

This is to minimise the risk of exposure to toxic gas, reported Sin Chew and New Straits Times. The manholes will be opened along the sewage alignment (from the scene of the incident), right up to the IWK plant in Pantai Dalam.

The 1st manhole was opened yesterday, but unfortunately, the authorities did not find anything, and at the time of writing (August 24), Sulizmie said they couldn’t find any signs that the victim was in the manhole.

Stay tuned for more updates!
