HSBC Malaysia will be updating its airport lounge access benefit for HSBC Premier Travel Credit Cardholders. Starting from 13 August 2025, access to airport lounges will no longer be provided through the current Plaza Premium Lounge programme. Instead, cardholders will use a new platform called DragonPass, which is accessed through the Mastercard Travel Pass mobile application.
This change is intended to expand lounge availability, support a fully digital experience, and connect cardholders to a wider global network. However, some existing benefits may not carry over to the new system in the same way.
What Is Changing
Until 12 August 2025, cardholders can continue to enjoy complimentary access to selected Plaza Premium Lounges. Under the existing arrangement, most cardholders are entitled to up to twelve free visits per year and can often bring a guest at no extra charge.
From 13 August 2025, this access will be discontinued. All eligible lounge visits will instead be managed through DragonPass, a global airport lounge network that includes over 1,300 locations worldwide. DragonPass is part of the Mastercard Travel Pass platform, which will now handle registration, membership verification, and lounge entry digitally through a mobile app.
What This Means for Cardholders
HSBC has not yet confirmed how the new DragonPass access will compare with the current Plaza Premium arrangement. This means it is not yet clear how many complimentary visits will be provided, whether guest access will continue, or whether the same lounges will be included. As a result, your access benefits under the new programme may be different from what you have today.
Cardholders should take note that this is not a direct replacement of the current benefit. Rather, it is a new arrangement with its own terms and features, which may vary depending on the lounge, location, or membership level.
What You Need to Do
To continue enjoying airport lounge access after 13 August 2025, you will need to register your HSBC Premier Travel Credit Card through the Mastercard Travel Pass application. This app is available from both the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Once you have installed the app and completed the registration process, you will be able to view your digital DragonPass ID and a QR code. These will serve as your lounge credentials. You must present your QR code or ID at participating lounges to gain entry. There will be no more physical lounge cards issued under the new programme.
Further Information and Customer Support
If you have questions about this change or how it might affect your lounge access, you are encouraged to visit the HSBC Malaysia website for the latest updates. You may also contact HSBC Customer Service at 1300 88 9393 for further assistance.
While it introduces new features and expanded coverage, it also brings changes to how benefits are accessed and what may be included. Cardholders are advised to check their updated entitlements and plan accordingly.
