KUALA LUMPUR – Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain today said police were confident they could bring fugitive financier Low Taek Jho, better known as Jho Low, back to Malaysia.
“It is only a matter of time,” Razarudin told a press conference in Bukit Aman today.
He said police had never stopped investigating the matter, but asked for some time to complete their duties.
“We brought back Jasmine Loo... we will get him (Jho Low) in a matter of time,” he said.
Loo, the former executive director of group strategy for 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), was nabbed in Kuala Lumpur last Friday and remanded over the weekend.
She is being investigated under Section 409 of the Penal Code for criminal breach of trust by a public servant or agent.
Asked about Loo’s whereabouts, Razarudin dismissed the question, saying police were concerned for her safety.
“There is no need to ask about that... or about how she was arrested. We have our own know-how,” he said.
He added that police were also prepared to cooperate with other enforcement agencies in their investigations into 1MDB. – The Vibes, July 13, 2023
