Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Islamic Association (Usia) plans to redevelop its old building, which was built in the 1970s, to preserve its historical importance.
Its President, Datuk Sapawi Ahmad, said the move is part of its strategic goals for developing and managing Usia’s abandoned assets to restore its purpose, function, and reputation after 55 years of operation in the State.
“The Chief Minister has approved allocation, and we hope to reconstruct the old building this year.
“I cannot announce the amount, but it is something to start with after two years of delay, we hope to implement it this year,” he said after the Sentuhan Kasih Ramadan programme hosted by Usia Wanita at the Menara Usia here.
