SHAH ALAM, May 17 — The upgraded Semenyih Health Clinic, now equipped with various facilities, is expected to begin operations by September at the latest.

Semenyih state constituency coordinator Datuk Johan Abd Aziz said the upgraded facility will benefit thousands of nearby residents, with the project costing around RM38 million.

“The information I’m sharing comes from the District Health Office. The estimated cost of this project is RM38 million. What was once a single-storey clinic is now being upgraded into a four-storey building.

“Final construction works are progressing rapidly and the clinic is expected to open in August, or by September at the latest,” he said.

The reconstruction and upgrading of the Semenyih Health Clinic was approved under the 11th Malaysia Plan, with construction beginning in July 2022.

During the upgrade, all services at the clinic — including maternal and child health, non-communicable disease (NCD) care, methadone treatment, school health services, and outpatient services — were temporarily relocated to nearby health and rural clinics.
