“Upin dan Ipin inilah dia!” Malaysia’s iconic animated twins, Upin & Ipin, are set to anchor a new venture, the Upin & Ipin Universe Theme Park at King’s Park Genting Highlands, following a collaboration between King’s Park Management Sdn Bhd and Les’ Copaque Production Sdn Bhd.
The partnership was officially announced on 11 December 2025 during a signing ceremony held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL). The ceremony was officiated by YB Tuan Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, Chairman of the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), underscoring the role of Malaysian homegrown intellectual property in strengthening the country’s creative and tourism sectors.
The King’s Park project spans 142 acres with an estimated gross development value (GDV) of RM10 billion, placing it among the larger integrated tourism developments in the area. The development integrates commercial, leisure, hospitality and lifestyle components, positioning it as a comprehensive destination within the Genting Highlands tourism landscape.
The inclusion of the Upin & Ipin Universe Theme Park reflects King’s Park’s long-term focus on promoting Malaysian-made content while offering family-oriented experiences rooted in local culture. The theme park is expected to feature interactive and immersive elements inspired by the popular animated series, allowing visitors to engage with characters and storylines that reflect Malaysian values and everyday life.
According to Darren Yang, President of King’s Park Management Sdn Bhd, the collaboration supports the group’s commitment to embracing homegrown intellectual property as part of its tourism development strategy.
“We liked the idea of bringing Upin & Ipin closer to the public through engaging activities, positive values and wholesome entertainment suitable for all ages, while promoting Malaysian culture, values and creativity on a global stage,” he said.
The collaboration with Les’ Copaque Production adds a dedicated family-oriented entertainment component to King’s Park, reinforcing its positioning as a culturally driven tourism, lifestyle and leisure hub with both domestic and international appeal.
Further details on the development and upcoming attractions are available on the official King’s Park Genting Highlands website.
