Kota Kinabalu: Upko has called for the Federal Government’s application to delay the High Court ruling on Sabah’s 40 per cent revenue entitlement to be challenged in Sabah.
Its president Datuk Ewon Benedick (pic) said the Attorney General’s Chambers had filed a stay of execution to postpone the implementation of the Kota Kinabalu High Court decision.
The court had earlier given both the Federal and Sabah governments 180 days to reach an agreement on the payment.
Ewon said he had raised the matter in Cabinet and that Upko believes the application should be contested to avoid delaying the court’s decision.
He said this when met by reporters at a breaking fast event organised by the Sabah State Railway Department on Wednesday.
