SANDAKAN: Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah Vice President Datuk Masiung Banah hinted at the possibility of a significant upset in Barisan Nasional’s long-held strongholds of Lamag and Sukau in the election on Saturday.

He attributed this to the rising wave of young voters supporting Gabungan Rakyat Sabah.

He said the surge in grassroots support, particularly from younger voters in Lamag and Sukau, was beyond expectations.

Masiung spoke after campaigning with GRS Lamag candidate Juhainizamshah Johari and GRS Sukau candidate Datuk Juhari Janan.

He said the political mood in Lamag and Sukau showed clear signs of momentum shifting toward change.

Although Lamag is currently held by Sabah Umno Chief Datuk Seri Bung Mokhtar Radin and Sukau by the Sabah Umno Secretary Datuk Jafry Ariffin, Masiung said the election outcomes depend on voters.
