Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), through its International, Mobility and Advanced Education Centre (IMAC), hosted a Hi-Tea Session with registered international student recruitment agents at DoubleTree by Hilton, Shah Alam i-City.
The event, which gathered 28 agents from various agencies including Q Study Sdn. Bhd, Eduglobe Malaysia Sdn. Bhd, Qinghai International Services Co. Ltd, Kingda Education, Wansi International Education Sdn. Bhd and UPSI Holding, was organised to acknowledge their contributions and continuous support in promoting UPSI globally and attracting international students to the university.
In his address, Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International), Associate Professor Dr. Ridzwan Che Rus, expressed his appreciation for the agents’ unwavering commitment in bringing international students to pursue both undergraduate and postgraduate studies at UPSI.
“This session is a symbol of the university’s appreciation to our recruitment agents who have greatly supported UPSI in expanding its international presence. We hope this collaboration will continue to grow in order to achieve our target of increasing the number of international students,” he said.
Dr. Ridzwan also announced that UPSI is currently reviewing its incentive scheme for agents as an encouragement to further strengthen promotional efforts and international networking.
Meanwhile, IMAC Director, Professor Dr. Ramlee Ismail, emphasised that the Hi-Tea Session was not only an appreciation platform but also a strategic avenue for knowledge-sharing.
“By listening to our agents’ feedback and insights, we are able to refine our internationalisation strategies, enhance academic collaborations, and open wider opportunities for global partnerships,” he noted.
Representatives from recruitment agencies also welcomed the initiative, sharing their views on how UPSI can further strengthen its visibility in key international markets.
Also present were IMAC Deputy Director, Dr. Siti Nor Amalina Ahmad Tajuddin; Program Director, Ikmal Redzuan Mohd Isa; faculty deans and representatives from UPSI responsibility centres.
The session reflects UPSI’s strong commitment to enhancing its internationalisation agenda, in line with the university’s aspiration to be a globally recognised education hub.
