‘Urgent approval for clinic’ urged

BEAUFORT: Lumadan Assemblyman Datuk Ruslan Muharam hopes the Federal Government will immediately approve the construction of the Pekan Gadong Health Clinic as soon as the application is made.

Ruslan, who is also Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, said the existing clinic is too old and unable to meet the needs of patients.

“The condition of the existing clinic is deplorable and cannot accommodate increasing patients up to 100 people a day,” he said after inspecting the proposed location for the new clinic, here, Friday.

He added the facilities at the existing clinic are also limited.

According to him, two locations near the Gadong Guest Site and Kampung Gadong Mosque, on government reserve land, are suitable for constructing the new clinic.

“It is up to the clinic administration to choose a suitable location and then apply to the Health Ministry soon,” he said.
