Israeli police have arrested a 20-year-old US citizen on suspicion of spying for Iranian intelligence, Israeli newspapers reported on Tuesday, citing police.
The man, from the greater Jerusalem area, is alleged to have photographed and filmed "sensitive locations" in Israel, receiving hundreds of dollars per assignment.
He is to be charged with making contact with a foreign agent and endangering Israel's national security.
Police said the man was taken into custody on June 9 in cooperation with Shin Bet, Israel's domestic intelligence agency, following tip-offs from international security services. It was not disclosed which foreign intelligence agencies were involved.
