US dog food brands issue urgent recall over salmonella and metal contamination

  • Two US dog food brands have issued product recalls due to contamination, with owners advised to stop feeding the products to their dogs and return them to stores.
  • Fromm Family Foods has recalled two types of its wet canned dog food following complaints about metal contamination.
  • The affected products are the Fromm Turkey Pâté Wet Dog Food 12.2-ounce can, with a best before date of 20 March 2029 and the lot code EP2A3306 551006, and the Fromm Diner Classics Milo’s Meatloaf Pâté Wet Dog Food 12.5-ounce can, with a best before date of 20 March 2029 and a lot code of EP2A3306 551029.
  • Meanwhile, Oma’s Pride has recalled 639 6lb bags of its Woof Complete Canine Chicken Recipe after testing found salmonella contamination.
  • The affected product has a best before date of 27 January 2029 and a lot code of BB012729.
