President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance have already digitally signed a framework agreement with Iran ahead of its formal adoption at a ceremony on Friday in Switzerland, according to US administration officials.

A senior US official said on Monday the document had been signed on the Iranian side by parliament speaker and chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. There was no immediate confirmation from Tehran.

The United States and Iran agreed on Sunday to the deal to end the war, although few details of the agreement have been made public. Many observers see the accord as an interim step in a diplomatic process that still leaves major challenges unresolved.

Details of the agreement are expected to be released within the next 24 to 48 hours, a second US official said.

Technical-level negotiations are due to take place later this week, the official added. Vance is expected to lead the negotiations on behalf of Washington.
