
SANDAKAN: Member of Parliament for Libaran, Datuk Suhaimi Nasir, urged the Public Works Department (JKR) to put up traffic lights to replace the two roundabouts at Mile 7, here to solve the traffic woes.
He received many complaints from motorists regarding the problem which occurs during peak hours at the two roundabouts at Mile 7 involving Libaran roundabout (eagle circle) and Rimba roundabout (crocodile circle).
“It is time to replace the two roundabouts with the use of smart traffic lights system using artificial Intelligence (AI) to solve the traffic congestion,” he said.
“For example, when there is a traffic jam, the system will give longer time to the traffic flow.”

He said the proposal will be brought to the next State Assembly sitting.
