PUTATAN: Sabahans are encouraged to use the MyJalan application to report any road-related issues.
This is to ensure that prompt action can be taken by the relevant authorities.
Deputy Minister of Works (KKR), Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, said the application allows users to make complaints easily and ensures that problems such as potholes are resolved immediately.
“I urge Sabahans to use the MyJalan application. It can be downloaded via Google Play and App Store or browsed on the Public Works Department (PWD) website. “Through MyJalan, citizens can submit complaints complete with location and photos, and the complaint will be channeled directly to the relevant parties.
“For Jalan Persekutuan (federal roads), potholes in the road will be patched within 24 hours according to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and our customer charter.
“Meanwhile, complaints regarding state roads, rural roads, estate roads, or agricultural roads will be sent to relevant ministry or department,” he said during a working visit to the Army Family Housing (RKAT) construction site at Lok Kawi Camp on Monday.
Ahmad however noted that the usage rate of MyJalan in Sabah remains low compared to other states.
“Sabah is one of the states with the lowest usage of this app. Therefore, I urge Sabah residents to take advantage of it to ensure that damaged roads are repaired quickly,” he said.
He also emphasised that the KKR also adheres to the ‘No Wrong Door’ policy, where every complaint received will be directly sent to the relevant ministry according to the road category.
“In Malaysia, there are 11 road categories, including highways, federal roads, state roads, urban roads, rural Roads, residential roads, agricultural roads, island roads, private roads, estate roads, and logging roads.
“Each road category is under the responsibility of a specific ministry or agency. For example, complaints related to rural roads are channeled to the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW), while state roads referred to the State PWD,” he said.
