Kota Kinabalu: A delegation from the United Sabah Islamic Association (Usia), led by its President Datuk Sapawi Ahmad, paid a courtesy visit at the office of the State Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Datuk Dr Mohd Arifin Md Arif.

The meeting aimed at discussing plans for the upcoming “Bulan Dakwah” (Month of Da’wah) programme, which is scheduled to begin in the month of Muharram in July.

“Various activities are being planned throughout month, which will involve all 29 Usia divisions across the State,” said Sapawi.

Usia also expressed its honour in inviting Dr Arifin, in his capacity as the State Exco for Education and Islamic Religious Affairs, to officiate the launching ceremony of the Month of Da’wah programme.

Sapawi emphasised that Usia intends to collaborate with various State and Federal Government agencies, as well as NGOs, in executing the programme.

“It is hoped that this visit will further strengthen the relationship and synergy in upholding Islam in Sabah, while contributing to the advancement of the Malaysia Madani vision,” he said.

Also present were Usia Treasurer-General Sainuri Yahmin, Assistant Secretary-General Zulhaimi Asbi and Administrative Officer Zulkiflee Ahmad.
