Kota Kinabalu: Usia president Datuk Sapawi Ahmad has objected to a proposal to build the Mazu statue near the Kudat District Mosque.
Sapawi, in a statement, said their stand is consistent with their objection made to the proposal in 2005.
"It's not Usia's intention to hinder the State Government's efforts to attract tourists including to Kudat, but most important is Muslims' sensitivities," he said.
