USPS driver rescued after mail van gets stranded in New York floodwaters

A USPS driver had to be rescued from floodwaters after their delivery van became stuck.

Footage shared by the Chatham Fire Department on Friday (31 July) shows the worker being helped from the partially submerged vehicle and onto the back of a fire engine on Route 295.

New York has been battered by heavy downpours, resulting in widespread flooding, road closures and hundreds of calls for emergency assistance.

Heavy rain left parts of Route 295 flooded, making travel hazardous as vehicles had to navigate the water carefully.
