In a post that is now deleted on both Facebook and Instagram, popular Muslim preacher Ustaz Ahmad Dusuki Abd Rani asked for donations from the public for his vehicle that had been involved in a car accident. The post which was originally written in Malay has gone viral with netizens questioning why the ustaz didn't just file an insurance claim for his vehicle. The post is as follows:

"EMERGENCY HELP

We are looking for 1000 generous donors who are willing to donate RM5 towards fixing the media vehicle of UAD (Ustaz Ahmad Dusuki)…

The accident that involved this car happened last September and it is serious; it involved the front and the back of the car, and now we are using cars rented from other parties.

We have been informed by car workshops that the cost of fixing the car is within the range of RM 3,000 - RM 5,000; this is to fix everything that was caused by the accident and to add insult to injury, we can't file an insurance claim with insurance companies due to a few technical issues (in the original post, this part was not included but was later added after facing questions from netizens).

May you be one of the kind-hearted donors who is willing to donate towards fixing the media vehicle of UAD (Ustaz Ahmad Dusuki). May every donation that goes towards facilitating the efforts of preaching (done by UAD and his team) be contributed to our convenience there later (referring to Jannah).

Channel your donation to the following accounts:

MAYBANK - XXXXXX "

The post quickly went viral and led to many netizens questioning why Ustaz Ahmad Dusuki and his team didn't file an insurance claim. Some even claimed that Ustaz Ahmad Dusuki and his team didn't file an insurance claim because the road tax of the car in question has expired. A netizen even commented, “The difference between regular people and ustaz when they are involved in an accident. Regular people - work hard to get the necessary funds (for the repair), Ustaz - ask for donations from people.” Another even commented, “If your car was rear-ended by another person, you can file a Third-Party claim with the other party's insurer. Use the insurance that is available on the car, it is not necessary to use the donation towards the repair of the car. It is better to use the donation in other areas. For me, it is quite wasteful to have car insurance but not use it.”
