Valencia coach Ruben Baraja was delighted with their victory over Osasuna.
Los Che won 1-0 thanks to Justin Kluivert's strike.
Baraja said, "We took the game into the territory that interested us, we were consistent in our intensity and we matched Osasuna's intensity, as well as finding something that we lacked which was our finishing in the final metres -which gives you the possibility of winning the game.
"Defensively, the team are better, but we wanted to finish our chances. We were lucky enough to score the goal and we had 3 or 4 good chances to kill the game off that would have given us more peace of mind, but today I am really happy for the fans, our players and the people who are suffering with us.
"Today we had a feeling of power, of having our fans behind us which, as I said on the first day I arrived, is essential for us. Mestalla plays a role and today it helped us a lot. The team did many things well. Osasuna are great opponents and we used our virtues and minimised theirs."
On the performance of Hugo Duro, Baraja also said: "He had a game in which he gave us what we needed. He created chances, he pressed when we needed it, he was in the area for the crosses and he did the job we asked of him. In the penalty we would have liked him to have scored, which would have given him more confidence, but he did a very complete job beyond the penalty.
"Sometimes in football you miss a penalty and in the next three games you score a goal. I understand that you have some frustration, but starting from tomorrow you have to clear your head and think about the next game. We don't have time to lament that. He has to keep going every day and contribute things to the team.
"There have also been players who came in and did very well. The changes in the starting lineup gave us continuity and aggressiveness. We need everyone and everyone has to be prepared to contribute to the team."
