World Cup star Enner Valencia claims his fellow Ecuador teammate Moises Caicedo made a mistake this month.
Caicedo put out an Instagram post where he essentially pleaded with Brighton to sell him to a bigger club.
He stated that he wanted to play for a top side and that his transfer fee would let Brighton rebuild their squad.
The club ultimately did not sell Caicedo this winter, with Arsenal and Chelsea interested.
Valencia told DeUnaSF: If I had spoken with him, I would have told him not to post what he posted on Instagram.
If he wants to leave, he could discuss that with in-house with the club."
