- In response to the ban, Ms Gomez provocatively threatened to defy the government by travelling to Britain via a small boat.
- Ms Gomez also suggested that the White House would intervene if authorities attempted to arrest her upon her arrival.
- Baroness Shaista Gohir, chief executive of Muslim Women’s Network UK, welcomed the decision to ban Gomez, stating it rightly recognised the danger Gomez posed and upheld Muslim safety.
