MANILA, Philippines — The Valenzuela City Police Station (VCPS) on Tuesday responded to a handwritten threat at a classroom at the Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU).
In a statement, local authorities saw the threat written on a piece of paper, but assured that there was no item posing a threat to the school community.
“Upon receiving the report, police promptly proceeded to the school and conducted a thorough security inspection of the premises. The inspection included classrooms and other areas within the school, as well as appropriate checking of students’ bags, in coordination with school authorities and in accordance with established safety and security protocols,” the VCPS said.
“After the inspection, no suspicious item or object that could pose a danger to the students, faculty, school personnel, or the school premises was found,” it added.
The university suspended face-to-face classes following the incident.
