RANAU: The State Government has introduced various initiatives to promote the culture of cashless payments, enabling the collection of state revenue such as licence, permit, and public amenity fees through cashless methods, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
He said that these initiatives include the Sabah Pay application, launched by the Sabah Credit Corporation, and the latest initiative, Yono (You Only Need One).
“The Covid-19 pandemic forced the public to become comfortable using mobile applications for payments.
“The use of the Sabah Pay application has successfully collected RM46 million as of Oct 31, 2023.

“Accepted payment methods include credit cards, debit cards, charge cards, e-wallets, and available Internet banking services,” he said while officiating the launch of the E-Duit Desa Komuniti Cashless Programme at the Kundasang Tamu ground here on Sunday.
His speech was delivered by Deputy Chief Minister, who is also Local Government and Housing Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam.
